Affinity Hospitality’s Alaska Home2 Suites set to open in 2026

After breaking ground in June, hotel operator Affinity Hospitality has revealed that its newest project in Alaska—the Home2 Suites by Hilton Wasilla—is on track to open in fall of 2026.

The four-story, 107-suite extended-stay property will be located within Sun Mountain Center. The project represents Newport Beach, Calif.-based Affinity Hospitality’s second Home2 Suites hotel in Alaska and its second hotel in Wasilla and reflects the company’s strategy to grow its regional presence.

“Wasilla is a vibrant and dynamic market, and with the hotel’s prime location near local business and attractions, Home2 Suites is ideally positioned to welcome leisure guests, business travelers and local residents,” Ric Marko, principal of Affinity Hospitality, said in a statement. “We are excited to be under construction and look forward to introducing Home2 Suites’ innovative approach to travelers and the MatSu Valley community.”

Backed by Northrim Bank and Nuveen Green Capital, the development marks the first new-construction project in the Matanuska-Susitna Borough to utilize Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy and Resilience financing. Of the project’s $30 million financing package, $11 million in C-PACER funding will support energy-efficiency upgrades, water conservation systems and seismic resilience measures. These improvements are designed to help reduce the hotel’s carbon footprint while lowering operating costs.

The hotel will showcase Hilton’s latest room design, featuring flexible suites equipped with full kitchens and 55-inch smart TVs. Guests can expect multi-functional social spaces, outdoor patios, firepits and BBQ areas, an indoor pool and hot tub, a fitness center, guest laundry and 936 square-feet of meeting space.
