Sohal Hotels, a Pacific Northwest-based multi-unit hotel franchisee company, has purchased Watertown Hotel in Seattle. Staypineapple Hotels sold the property but will manage it with its first management and licensing agreement.
The hotel, near the University of Washington campus, will undergo a significant transition that marks a new chapter for both companies. Watertown Hotel was built in 2001, became a part of the Pineapple Hospitality portfolio in 2008 and was officially branded as a Staypineapple in 2013. The 88,500 square-foot property has 100 guestrooms and suites, a fitness center, 1,300 square-feet of meeting space, a secured underground parking garage and an attached food and beverage cafe.
“In transferring ownership of Watertown Hotel to Sohal Hotels, we are excited to embark on a new journey to expand our management and licensing capabilities," Staypineapple Hotels President Dina Belon said in a statement. "Our goal in partnership with Sohal Hotels is to maintain Staypineapple’s signature hospitality and innovative service model at Watertown Hotel, ensuring that every guest’s experience is a memorable one.”
Sohal Hotels is equally enthusiastic about embarking on its new partnership with Staypineapple Hotels. “We are thrilled to acquire Watertown Hotel, a property that has served Seattle’s University District community with distinction," Sohal Hotels owner Satpal Sohal said. "This acquisition allows us to advance Sohal Hotels' vision in partnership with a trusted brand like Staypineapple. We look forward to working closely with Staypineapple Hotels Inc.’s experienced management team to uphold the high standards of service that guests have come to expect and to foster a lasting and successful relationship.”
Staypineapple Hotels aims to grow its footprint in the hospitality industry through strategic partnerships like the one with Sohal Hotels, according to the company.
