Kwame Onwuachi to open restaurant at Sahara Las Vegas

A new restaurant from Kwame Onwuachi is set to move into the space currently held by Bazaar Meat by José Andrés at the Sahara Las Vegas. Onwuachi is the chef behind New York City’s Tatiana and Washington, D.C.’s Dōgon. He also helped develop the Family Reunion weekend at the Salamander Resort in Middleburg, Va. The original concept at Sahara will be his first restaurant on the West Coast.

"We have closely followed Chef Onwuachi's career and deeply admire the significant impact he has had in New York City and Washington, D.C., where he has redefined the dining scene with his acclaimed cuisine," Paul Hobson, general manager of Sahara Las Vegas, said in a statement. "At Sahara, he will connect with a whole new audience, and we are honored to welcome him."

"I am excited for this next chapter, and the opportunity to bring a new culinary concept to Sahara Las Vegas and the city’s dynamic food scene,” Onwuachi added.

Additional details about Onwuachi’s Sahara Las Vegas restaurant will be announced in coming months. The current Bazaar Meat by José Andrés space is set to close on June 30 before reopening at the Venetian Resort on the Las Vegas Strip.
