Hilton is poised to open The George at Columbia Harlem, Tapestry Collection by Hilton—its first hotel in New York City’s Harlem neighborhood—later this fall. The property—named for both Harlem dance legend George “Shorty George” Snowden and King George II, who chartered Columbia University in 1754—is close to Columbia University, the Apollo Theater, Morningside Park, the Studio Museum in Harlem and the National Jazz Museum.
Design in the hotel’s public spaces includes earth tones, matte blacks, deep greens and warm neutrals layered with art-deco finishing, brass accents, soft light and plush seating. The 139 guestrooms have natural textures and floor-to-ceiling windows.
Public spaces include a pool deck and urban courtyard. Amenities include a heated outdoor pool, fitness center, terrace lounge, lobby bar and 2,000 square feet of meeting space. Two restaurant concepts are slated to open in spring 2026.
