Marriott opens AC Hotel in Dominican Republic

The AC Hotel Santiago de los Caballeros has opened in the Dominican Republic. The 140-room hotel is in the Monumental Area and is close to the Monument to the Heroes of the Restoration, the Gran Teatro del Cibao, the UTESA Convention Center and several dining options.

“Santiago de los Caballeros is the second-largest city in the Dominican Republic and is known as a cultural, educational and economic hub,” Brian King, president of Marriott International for the Caribbean and Latin America, said in a statement. “AC Hotel Santiago de los Caballeros reflects the AC Hotels brand promise to go beyond the ordinary and deliver experiences that strike the perfect balance between form and function.”

The hotel has minimalist rooms designed to maximize space and emphasize openness. Pet-friendly accommodations also are available.

The AC Kitchen has a European-inspired breakfast. The Maximum Rooftop Restaurant is on the seventh floor. The  AC Lounge serves cocktails, beers and wines as well as tapas and canapés. The Mocho Cigar Bar & Lounge serves rums and cigars, and the Cielo Lounge & Bar on the 8th floor has nearly 360-degree panoramic views of the city.
