A new boutique hotel is set to open on the California coast this November with the debut of a 50-room property known as Mendocino Cove.
Developed by Teresa Raffo and Chris Hougie, the team behind Mendocino Grove glampsite, the hotel is located on the site of the former Pine Beach Inn. The pair purchased the hotel and turned it into a contemporary retreat. Plans include 50 rooms and suites in multiple categories with additional garden suites to follow in early 2026.
“Mendocino Cove carries the spirit of Mendocino Grove forward, but reinterprets it through the lens of a boutique hotel,” Raffo said in a statement. “It’s a place where guests can immerse themselves in the Mendocino Coast while enjoying modern comforts, vibrant food and beverage and a wellness philosophy that balances stillness and play.”
The property has eight pickleball courts, direct access to a private beach, a fitness center and a wellness program with a sauna, outdoor hot tub, cold plunge and massage treatments. A signature restaurant and bar, showcasing Mendocino County’s seasonal ingredients, is scheduled to launch this winter.
