The Somm Hotel & Spa opened over the weekend within the Harvest development in Woodinville, Wash., as part of Marriott Bonvoy’s Autograph collection of independent hotels.
The new property—which includes 164 guestrooms, a full-service spa, wine-focused programming and more than 16,000 square feet of meeting and event space—is managed by Seattle-based Columbia Hospitality. Designed by Sixteenfifty Creative Intelligence, the interiors are intended to reflect the Pacific Northwest’s natural and wine-country heritage.
“The Somm is ... a destination designed to elevate every moment,” general manager John Evans, formerly of Napa Valley’s Silverado Resort & Spa, said in a statement. “Every detail—from our name to the design of our blending rooms and curated offerings—pays tribute to the region’s rich winemaking legacy and reflects our deep connection to the pioneering spirit that defines this remarkable corner of the country. It’s a place where guests and locals can connect, unwind and savor every moment."
The hotel’s culinary program is led by executive chef Maximillian Petty, a three-time James Beard Award semifinalist and Woodinville native. Petty will oversee Bin 47, the hotel’s signature restaurant and bar, and The Shed, a rooftop lounge with views of Mount Rainier and the Sammamish River Valley.
In addition to its dining outlets, the hotel has two wine blending rooms where guests can create their own bottles as part of a complimentary experience, along with Vin de Spa, which includes hot tubs, steam and sauna rooms, and eight treatment rooms. Guest amenities will also include spa-style bathrooms, digital touchpad room indicators, and hydration stations with filtered still and sparkling water.
Located 30 minutes from Seattle, the hotel is positioned as a hub for events, culinary programming and wine education within Woodinville’s wine country.
