Hotelier Jon Blanchard launches JB Hotel Group, a Los Angeles-based, real estate development, investment and asset management firm. JB Hotel Group is a rebrand of Blvd Hospitality. Following the rebrand, the company will now focus on developing independent lifestyle and luxury hotels.
Blanchard has spent almost two decades redefining hospitality through design-forward projects. His portfolio includes more than $1 billion in transacted real estate and over 1,400 hotel keys developed to date. Now, with JB Hotel Group, he will focus on independent luxury and lifestyle hotels that reflect his vision.
Blvd was responsible for downtown Los Angeles hotels Ace Hotel, the CitizenM hotel, Soho Warehouse in the Arts District and Hoxton Hotel. CitizenM was the first approved high rise modular construction building in the city of L.A.
The company also acquired and redeveloped The Georgian Hotel in Santa Monica which re-opened in 2023 and served as the catalyst for the rebrand.
“After 16 years in the hospitality business, my dream has always been to focus on creating my own independent hotels - projects where every detail is intentional, rooted in place, and built for lasting impact,” Blanchard said in a statement. “JB Hotel Group represents that next chapter: a studio-like model where we can grow our own luxury and lifestyle portfolio, while still collaborating on special branded projects.”
The first project for JB Hotel Group is a 125-room hotel in Anaheim, located just outside of the Disneyland entrance.
