Hyatt Regency Austin completes propertywide transformation

Hyatt Regency Austin has completed a full-scale transformation of its 448 guestrooms and suites, along with its corridors, meeting facilities and public spaces that added two additional guestrooms and three new dining concepts.

The transformation—which began in April—was guided by Ealain Studios, which provided interior design services for guestrooms, public areas and meeting venues.

“As Austin continues to be a premier destination for business and leisure travel, special events and the local community, we’re pleased to welcome guests to the revitalized Hyatt Regency Austin, which ushers in a new era for our hotel,” Jeff Donahoe, the property’s general manager, said in a statement.

The redesigned lobby is designed to blend Austin’s natural landscape with its urban energy. A glass-encased, layered metal mesh cactus sculpture—drawing from the region’s opuntia and barrel cacti—anchors the space, while new reception pods and flexible lounge seating support business travelers, leisure guests and small group gatherings.

The guestrooms and suites have new natural-tone carpeting, hand-stitched accent pillows and locally inspired artwork. Updated furnishings include new luggage benches, desk chairs and table lamps.

King and double queen rooms now feature lounge areas, while select accommodations offer dedicated workspaces with a chaise and table. Bathrooms received a modern overhaul with expanded quartz-topped vanities, warm wood accents, sleek fixtures and subtle geometric tilework. Two new guestrooms have been added—including the Lake View Residence suite—which features two private balconies, a spacious living area with a convertible sofa and a kitchenette with bar seating.

The hotel has also revamped its culinary program with the debut of Ripple & Roots, Cypress Grove and Juniper Breeze Market. Ripple & Roots, located adjacent to the reception area, serves lunch, happy hour and dinner with Tex-Mex cuisine and a beverage program showcasing Central Texas distilleries. Cypress Grove—situated on the second-floor mezzanine—has a breakfast buffet and weekend brunch with views of Lady Bird Lake and the Austin skyline. Juniper Breeze Market provides grab-and-go options—including baked goods, sandwiches, salads and specialty beverages—along with items from local purveyors.

The property also updated its meeting and event venues, including the Zilker, Texas and Foothills ballrooms.
