The Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedegral—the brand’s first resort in Mexico—is poised to begin the final phase of a multiyear renovation, which will be focused on transforming the hotel’s guestrooms.
The property will be fully closed from July 15 to September 30 to redo all 112 guest rooms, suites, casitas and villas. The final stage of renovations will include a floor-to-ceiling redesign of all rooms as well as the debut of a rotating series of culinary activations at the enhanced Beach Club. The transformation began in 2022 with several culinary enhancements across the resort.
“The reimagination of Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal was done thoughtfully to ensure a singularly authentic luxury experience that gives a nod to both the resort’s impressive legacy as well as the heritage and traditions of Mexican culture,” Maria Valeria Nowotny, Hilton’s VP, operations, resorts, luxury and lifestyle hotels, Caribbean, Mexico and Central America, said in a statement. “The culmination of this transformation will propel the resort to a thrilling new era and further solidify the property as the premier luxury stay of choice while visiting Los Cabos.”
Spearheaded by the original designer of the beachfront resort, Paul Duesing, the enhancement of Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal will introduce modern influences, according to the company. All 112 new guestrooms, suites, casitas and villas will get a lighter, neutral color palette and calming hues contrasted with deep, warm accents. The new rooms will also feature custom furniture and accessories made by a variety of Mexican artisans from Oaxaca, Baja California Sur, Jalisco and more, as well as a collection of art featuring prominent Mexican artists.
