SMIA tribe acquires Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort & Club

The San Manuel Investment Authority, through its affiliated entities, acquired full ownership of Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort & Club in Dana Point, Calif. Other terms and conditions were not disclosed. The resort serves as a cornerstone non-gaming resort within the tribe's luxury destination portfolio.

Since 2023, following the acquisition of a partial ownership interest in Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach by a SMIA affiliated entity, our Yaamava' and Palms guests have enjoyed the warm hospitality and the oceanside views offered by Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach, and the Monarch Beach Golf Links. We are excited to share this news with them, as well."

Hilton will continue to manage operations of Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach, preserving operational continuity. Similarly, Troon will continue to manage operations of Monarch Beach Golf Links.

Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach has 400 guestrooms and suites, a wide array of culinary experiences, Waldorf Astoria Spa & Salon, three pools, access to an exclusive beach club, a Robert Trent Jones, Jr. designed golf course and 120,000 square feet of event space.
